Burgess Sports Renews Food for Life Bronze Award for the Third Consecutive Year
At Burgess Sports, providing healthy, nutritious food has always been a fundamental part of our mission to give every child a great start in life. We are therefore delighted to announce that we have successfully renewed our Soil Association Food for Life Bronze Award for the third consecutive year.
When Burgess Sports first began delivering holiday programmes, it quickly became clear that many children were arriving without having eaten a healthy meal. Since then, improving access to nutritious food and helping families develop positive relationships with healthy eating has become a long-term commitment for our charity.
This work has never been more important. Rising levels of childhood obesity, increasing consumption of ultra-processed foods and widening health inequalities continue to affect many of the communities we serve. We believe that good nutrition, alongside regular physical activity, plays a vital role in supporting children's health, wellbeing and ability to learn.
Renewing our Food for Life Bronze Award reflects the high standards we continue to uphold across our programmes. From freshly prepared meals during our Multi-Sports Holiday Programme to family cooking sessions through Kids in the Kitchen, we aim not only to provide healthy food but also to inspire children and parents to make positive choices that can last a lifetime.
While we know there is still much more to do, we are proud to have achieved this recognition for the third year in a row. It reflects the dedication of our staff, volunteers and partners, who work tirelessly to ensure that healthy food remains at the heart of everything we do.
Every healthy meal served is another step towards building healthier, happier and more resilient communities.
